The students from our boarding program had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Chiapas during an exciting visit to the Maya World Textile Center. This educational and enjoyable experience aimed to foster self-esteem, creativity, and pride in our cultural roots.

Learning About Traditional Chiapanecan Clothing
During the visit, we explored the history and meaning behind the traditional clothing of the indigenous communities of Chiapas. Our children learned about the importance of each color, pattern, and design, and how these elements reflect the identity and traditions of each community.

Mask Workshop: A Space for Creativity
Later, we participated in a fun workshop where we learned about the different types of masks found in indigenous communities and their meanings. The children were also able to express their creativity by decorating masks inspired by Chiapanecan culture.

The visit to the Maya World Textile Center was a truly enriching experience. Our students learned more about the culture and diversity of Chiapas while expressing their creativity and connecting with their heritage.
We are proud to have provided this experience and hope to continue encouraging appreciation and respect for our cultural roots.
